One of the first things you will notice after installing the BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha simulator is that it probably doesn’t fit on your screen. The next thing you’ll notice is that it’s not that easy to resize, until now!! Here’s my step-by-step instructions, with screen shots, to do so:
1. Open your simulator.
2. Now open the controller.exe file for the simulator. If you installed it to the default location, it will be in:
(in my case the **ACCOUNT** is Brian)
3. Once opened you need to connect to your simulator, to do so click “Connection” then click “Connect”
4a. Type in the IP Address from your simulator, then click “Connect”
4b. To ensure you are connected, it should say “Connect to ” [IP ADDRESS] on the bottom bar.
5. Click on “Device” and select the last option “Change Zoom Level”
6. Change the zoom level (100 being default size) to any value. I use 50 because I like it bit smaller to give more a “phone size” but anything less than 65 will fit on my monitor (res 1920x1080) with out scrolling.
You can now close the Controller and the simulator will stay the size you set until you change it again.
